Its unique OneBlade design allows for smooth shaves, precise trimming and edging — and it can be used wet or dry.

I tested the OneBlade out and it's multifaceted design makes it the easiest and most convenient grooming tool I've used.

Most men take pride in their facial hair. In many ways, it's an extension of their personal style. The same way guys like to change their clothes based on new style preferences or trends, facial hair can be held to the same regard. But switching from a full beard to clean shaven, or a unique style somewhere in between, isn't as easy as putting on a different pair of pants or shoes.

Building an arsenal of razors, clippers, trimmers, and guards to achieve different styles can quickly become expensive, and going to the barbershop multiple times a week just isn't practical.

Shaping your mustache

What separates the Philips Norelco OneBlade from other trimmers and shavers is, of course, the unique blade. It uses a fast moving OneBlade cutter (200 times per second) with a dual protection system on both ends. The base of the blade also contours to your face, allowing for a comfortable shave or trim without irritation.

Philips Norelco provided me with a OneBlade Electric Trimmer and Shaver to test out and it's the easiest and most convenient grooming tool I've used. It has become my new favorite way to keep my facial hair neat in between full shaves or barbershop visits.

I personally choose to wear a mustache and goatee and because of that, shaving, trimming, and edging all come into play as part of my grooming routine. My mustache and beard are trimmed and lined up, while my sideburns and neck are shaved clean. I've tried everything from clippers to multi-blade razors and have experienced the frustration of single-use tools that don't do everything I need them to.

What I like best about the Philips Norelco OneBlade is that it can do everything — and it's super efficient. Compared to bulky plug-in clippers, the OneBlade's compact wireless design offers the mobility and precision needed for trimming and edging. It was much easier to use this to create sharp lines on my mustache as compared to anything else I've tried. The package also comes with 1mm, 3mm, and 5mm guards for trimming your stubble to desired lengths.

Handlebar facial hair

Use one of the included guards to trim your hair to a specific length.

In addition to trimming and edging, I was genuinely surprised at how well the OneBlade worked for shaving. The blade is engineered give you a shave that's not too close, but it's by no means dull or hard to use. Designed for wet or dry use, OneBlade can accommodate any preferred style of shaving. I was pleased with both wet and dry (I had no burning sensation or razor bumps afterwards), but if you're looking for a shave that's close to using a traditional razor, I would suggest wet shaving.

The ability to use it wet or dry also makes grooming faster. You can quickly go between wet shaving and dry edging — and you can even use it in the shower.

Priced at $34.95, the Philips Norelco OneBlade is a really good value. Compared to buying multiple grooming tools that are each good for just one thing (shaving, trimming, or edging) or going to the barbershop to have someone else do the work, the OneBlade will quickly pay for itself.
